Affliction, Anarchy & More!
It's like contemporary society redux!
Hi! Yes! Hello!
I was planning to schedule video and Substack post drops for each Friday while I am traveling, but I am not very good at that sort of thing. It takes a level of patience that I mostly do not posses. Have the social media manager do it! Oh. That’s me. Rats!
So! Here is the new video for AFFLICTION as part of a handy playlist of all the videos for this album so far, plus some other goodies! My hardcore fans (are there any?) may recognize a theme from this song that was used in another piece from a recent album, and if you do, drop me comment about what song it’s from and I will give you a treat of some sort! Cookie. Cracker. Something.
I hope. you will consider helping us contribute to the ACLU
by CLICKING THIS HUGE LINK and buying the album these are all from,
MAYDAY, words by Jessica Hagy and music by yours truly.
Also, you should follow Jessica Hagy because she is the ginchiest!
As always her writing cracks me the hell up:
AFFLICTION
You are advised to ignore all invitations to hope.
It’s happening. Good night.
Please accept our condolences.
Here’s what we know.
If you can, please remain safe.
Now is not the time to panic.
Supplies of grain are dwindling.
Please share what you can with others.
These messages are for the public good.
Do not drink unboiled water.
Burn, do not bury your dead.
Burn your dead! Do not bury them! That is the most sanitary method of disposal.
Screaming does nobody any good, you know.
Please use ammunition only for euthanasia.
The situation has spread across our entire broadcast area.
You are advised to ignore all invitations to hope.
There is nothing we can do.
But we are aware that something has indeed accelerated.
The more darkness the better.
This is a known side effect.
Open wounds may be unable to properly heal at this time.
Worry does no good.
They are carriers of concentrated poison.
We need to slow the spread of this affliction.
It is not recommended that you venture outside.
It’s honestly better that you do not know all the things we have recently learned.
The coasts are again under suffocation watch, which we know is horrible.
The Earth's mantle is expanding rapidly.
The continents themselves are on the move.
Nobody around to ever disappoint.
We hope that you become more than an echo.
Nobody even knows where to look.
And now we sit in our damp shadows and wait for the final dusk.
If anyone’s even listening anymore, good luck to you.
You’re still here? It’s over! Go home! Go!
Best,
Andy
